Freight
Quay Skills: Freight is a new, fully interactive, training programme for the international freight forwarding community. Endorsed by BIFA, Skills for Logistics and the Learning and Skills Council, this suite of eight inter-connected simulator stations can replicate real-life work situations anywhere in the world, involving almost any commodity.
Developed by industry specialists ITS Training Limited in partnership with Mersey Maritime, Quay Skills: Freight is a market-leading product that has been developed in close consultation with employers and market-tested to a wide audience to ensure its relevance to the industry.
Students take part in virtual reality exercises involving the movement of cargo internationally and are assessed on their ability to complete the steps involved in the process, while dealing with related administrative tasks and a range of challenges along the way. Individual or group performances that highlight areas of particular strength or weakness can also be identified, allowing employers to develop their staff to their greatest potential.
Up to the minute information covering all elements of the processes involved in the international movement of goods is incorporated into the simulator software, together with comprehensive support materials that allow the student to access relevant lectures, self testing materials and the internet, to carry out investigations and activities.
Our new half day International Maritime Trade course is now available to book for dates in April and May 2010 ( see left for details). Other dates can be arranged to suit company requirements. Call +44 (0)151 647 4747 for further information.
